At a rally in Highland Heights on Oct. 17, President Donald Trump tore into DEI policies and argued that people should get jobs based on merit and qualifications.
The remarks came just two days after Trump fired his newly appointed White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia, who lasted only five days in the position. Zacharia faced scrutiny over her qualifications after presenting herself as a lawyer despite never passing the bar exam or obtaining a license to practice law. Trump personally selected Zacharia for the role before her brief tenure ended amid a harshly criticized performance.
