A 16.7-pound ham just sold for $10 million at the Kentucky State Fair. Yes, you read that correctly. The grand champion ham was auctioned off during this year’s Kentucky State Fair.
Billionaires Kelly and Joe Craft contributed $5 million, teaming up with Central Bank, which matched their contribution with another $5 million in a joint bid. The money will go to charities and organizations selected by the winners. The Crafts’ share will support a new Boys & Girls Club recreation center and local FFA chapters, while Central Bank’s $5 million will be distributed among organizations including the Markey Cancer Center, Kentucky Derby Museum, Eastern Kentucky University, Transylvania University, the Hope Center and more.
