Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., had a pointed response when asked whether he agrees with President Donald Trump’s repeated claim that the country is in a “golden age.”
“You need gold to buy diesel now, so maybe it is the golden age,” Massie said outside the Capitol. Diesel prices have climbed above $6 a gallon on average nationally, reaching record highs of over $8 in some states as global fuel supplies tighten amid the U.S.-Iran War.
