“The gutting of the Voting Rights Act is a deliberate attempt to undermine Black voting power.” Gov. Andy Beshear issued a sharp critique of SCOTUS for gutting the Voting Rights Act, calling it a deliberate attempt to take power away from Black voters and erase the history of racism in the United States.
Beshear urged voters to turn out in force this November and stressed the importance of opposing the SAVE Act and supporting the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, which he says would establish minimum standards to ensure free and fair elections and protect voters from race-based discrimination.
