Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is once again calling on lawmakers to make free pre-K available to every 4-year-old in the state. After the Republican-led legislature did not fund his statewide proposal, Beshear moved ahead with pilot programs in four school districts. The programs are expected to serve nearly 3,000 children as he continues pushing for a broader expansion.
